Privacy Policy

We’re Brenda, a text-based mom-friend chat app. We try to keep this short and human. If anything is unclear, email the contact form and a real person will answer.

What we collect

• Email address: to sign you in via magic link. We do not sell your email and we do not send marketing without your consent.
• Your chat messages: saved so you can come back and read your history. Stored encrypted at rest in our database (Supabase). You can delete all your chats at any time from settings inside the app.
• Subscription state: whether you’re a paid subscriber, so we can unlock paid features.
• Usage counts: how many messages you’ve sent today, so we can enforce the free-tier limit.
• Optional feedback: when you tap kudos or report on a message, we save the message text and your reaction so we can tune Brenda’s voice over time.

What we don’t collect

• No third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
• No location data.
• No contacts, photos, or anything else from your device.
• No tracking pixels in our emails.

Who we share data with

To run the service, we use these third-party providers:

• Supabase: database + authentication
• Vercel: hosting
• Anthropic: Brenda’s responses are generated by Claude (Anthropic’s AI). Your messages are sent to Anthropic’s API to generate replies. Anthropic does not train models on consumer API traffic.
• Resend: sends our magic-link sign-in emails.
• RevenueCat / Apple: subscription billing on iOS. We never see your payment details.

Brenda is AI

Brenda is an AI character. She is not a therapist, doctor, lawyer, or licensed professional. She is not a replacement for human connection or professional care. If you’re experiencing a crisis, the app’s built-in safety layer will provide direct resources (988, Postpartum Support International, the National Domestic Violence Hotline). Use them.

Your rights

• Delete your chats: settings inside the app → delete all my chats. Wipes message history immediately.
• Delete your account: email hello@tellbrenda.com and we will permanently delete your account and all associated data within 7 days.
• Request your data: same email, same response time.
• Opt out of future emails: every email we send has an unsubscribe link.

Children

Brenda is for moms 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has signed up, email us and we will delete the account.

Changes

If we materially change how we handle your data, we’ll email you and update this page. The date at the top reflects the last update.
